Raspberry Wine

Any wine connoisseurs out there? Count me in! I am a one (maybe two) glass girl, but love a great bottle of wine. Most people don't think of a winery in Hawaii. Coffee bean tours of course (and Kona coffee...please just run an I.V.), but wine? If you find yourself vacationing in Maui, I highly recommend spending an afternoon visiting Maui Wine. It is located on the opposite side of the island from the hotel strip along Kaanapali Beach. The drive there is breathtaking and steep and winding. This also means the drive back is downhill steep and winding; so no getting tipsy!Maui Wine has the absolute best pineapple wine! However one wine managed to have us buying bottles to send home, drink there, and we now plan to order more to be shipped. Mind you I do not lean toward sweet wines...I am a dry Merlot girl. However I am in love with their raspberry desert wine, Lehua, Rose Ranch Wine. Sweet, rich, and decadent, it makes for the perfect wine to sip with desert or pour right over ice cream. The wine is amazing and the property is captivating. Trees planted from all around the world, beautiful sculptures, and the the most quaint wine tasting room ever. I can't wait to restock our Lehua...and even more to return to Maui Wine for another visit.
